Our Mission
Today, more than one billion people live with a form of visual impairment. To those affected, it's not a number; it's a lifelong challenge. Eyesight is something fundamental to each of us, from toddlers playing to schoolboys learning to mothers at work. With this in mind, Together We See began with a simple mission: “Giving the gift of vision to those in need.”
OcularCheck App
We developed a mobile app to facilitate visual acuity screening in rural and low-infrastructure locations. OcularCheck has screened over 7,000 people across 170+ countries.
Vision Screening in India and Tanzania
We’ve conducted vision screenings in India and Tanzania remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing financial and medical support to those at risk of a visual impairment.
Reading Glasses for Veterans
We’ve organized reading glasses screening and dispensing events at the largest VA hospitals in Texas, including the Audie L. Murphy VA hospital, the Temple VA hospital, the Austin VA hospital, and the Harlingen VA hospital.
Recognition from Community Leaders
James Talarico, House of Representatives Rep. TX-52
“Dear Soham, congratulations on being recognized for developing OcularCheck! My team and I are so proud of your accomplishments. You truly embody what it means to be a great neighbor and do your community — and your state — proud.” (Source)
Craig Morgan, Mayor of the City of Round Rock
“I just encourage y’all to keep doing what you’re doing. I mean, you’re doing a great job, this is awesome that you’re trying to bring awareness… That’s what it takes—people taking the initiative and being leaders in your community, and you’re doing that. You’re to be commended.” (Source)
Sam Pantusa, President of the Lions Sight Research Foundation
“I’d love to have you come and talk to our [Lions] district at our next meeting. There would be about 100 of our Lions there. For us to get a perspective of these young folks who are already dedicating themselves to working toward this, it would mean so much to us. It would be very inspirational.” (Source)
